* SORRY for the white thingy behind the words...I didn't copy stuff...it's just that I copied the results of the competition and out comes the white background thingy :( too lazy to edit coz I used up loads of time for this post lols XD

Review about the opening , intercession , Q&A :

Raymond Lam

This year , the opening and all intercessions were a major improvement compared to previous years . There was more glamour , more fashion ( omgosh...their outfits are to DIE FOR ! ) , and the make-up this year was fantastic !! ( man...everyone look pretty...or maybe this is just a tough year where there are more beauties compared to previous years 0.0 ) . Perhaps the theme of the pageant ( Cosmopolitan ) helped a lot in making this year's pageant one of the best in recent years :)

wow....even their backstage is so modern and all glam up

I've always admire MCI because they emphasize not only on physical appearance , but also on your wittiness etc..I mean...man...their questions are always tricky and not like Miss Universe...so cliche-ish . However , there's one drawback here , waiting for 10 contestants to answer the questions...omgosh...super boring...( I even went to bathe , apply skincare and still have 2 more contestants to go before they wrap up the session ) . However , it was not all boring because some contestants are really witty there XD ( * hint : Miss Singapore )

Drawbacks : Raymond Lam's lip synching ,Q&A took a lot of time ..

Many people criticized that the front part ( which is the showcase of contestants ) one by one is not necessary because the judges already know who is the semi-finalists , etc which I have to agree . According to my experience of joining in my college's beauty pageant , I'll kinda have to justify that...In whatever beauty pageants , they will have two panel of judges , 1st panel are the ones who will judge the contestants backstage ( their everyday life...they follow them all the time ) , and the 2nd panel are the guest judges who will judge on the night itself... Practically on the final night , those behind-the-scenes people will roughly know who are the top 10 / top 5 / or in some cases , top 3..but the 2nd panel are the ones who will determine who will be the winner... so if a contestant obtained super low marks during her daily routine / practise , she will have lower chance to win ....it's that simple..

But , thinking back , it's good to introduce the contestants too..at least the audience can play judge and they will think it's fairer that way :)

Review on the contestants

I see more potential girls this year compared to previous years . Also , more competition since 28 girls are competing for the crown ( instead of the usual 15-20 contestants ) ...Besides that , it's tough too that some countries have two representatives ( because last year there was no pageant so 2010 regional winners can compete with 2011 winners ) ...and that's really unlucky for some ( Malaysia is the best example but i'll talk about that later ) .

This year was a bit different since the contestants are divided and grouped into regions... Asia and Oceania , Greater China and Euro-America ... somehow..I smell something fishy here...to group Miss Hong Kong under greater China is okay...but I sense that it's to allow Miss HK to advance to another round , since she's eloquent and her competitors from her group isn't that great ( not so pretty...chubby...don't speak good Cantonese ) and that added a lot of advantages to Miss HK...

Those who stood out during the pageant ( first segment ) was obviously Lenna ( Malaysia ) for her confidence , her ability to ' sot ' cameras , her eye smile and her witty answers ( man...she's that smart that some contestants started to copy her answer....but kinda failed 0.0 ) , Jasmine Hayter ( New York ) for her mixed beauty and her ability to speak cantonese ( chinese like her kind of beauty ) and her height . I read somewhere which stated if Rebecca ( Hong Kong ) were to compete with Jasmine and Lenna , she is the weakest one because she don't have Jasmine's height and elegance and Lenna's confidence and vitality . So it's a smart move...

but quite useless ...coz I thought they will choose like 3 from Asia , 3 from Greater china....and they ended up choosing the semi-finalists not according to the groups...

Some faltered here , Miss HK sadly gave the wrong answer and she was eliminated...practically those who gave wrong answers do not qualify for the next round . This year's Q&A is quite hard because all of them are about superstitions . You have to answer what is the superstition for __________ and what if ____ and what will be your superstition ( can't really explain here but it's like ' in Nepal , parents gave ' lu han guo ' ( a fruit ) to their daughters when there reach the age of 11 , why do you think they give her that...' etc...quite hard to explain lols...but man...if you don't have deep knowledge of chinese...DIE...

Miss Singapore and Miss Malaysia stood out here....Miss Singapore with her ' last dance ' answer fpr divorce superstition and ' how should you dance if you are asking your ex-husband for custody fees ' ...that was super hilarious !! It was here that Miss Singapore suddenly stole some of the spotlight !!! Everybody loves her answer XD

Miss Malaysia was really confident and omgosh..I love her interviews....when you see her interviews , she made it like it's not an interview but it looks like she's talking to you ( her eye contact etc ) she also appeared super calm like nothing's happening...can't really see much stress in her....practically her catwalk , dance , interview is good

TOP 3 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This year is kinda unique because it's the only year that after a top 10 , the top 3 is announced...

Face of discontentment : So near yet so far....

Lenna walked away with a 2nd runner up title , Cheryl ( Singapore ) settled for 1st runner up ( man she looked unhappy...so obvious ) and Kelly ( Chicago ) is the winner...

Unexpected yet expected win...

Kelly is somewhat a hot favourite and a dark horse....She was one of the favourite to win the crown mostly because she's from Elite modelling agency , a professional model and she was Elite best model 2010...but she's also a dark horse because she never really stood out during the night...

I'm kinda irritated with the voting method by the judges to choose the winner....that's still acceptable since they already have the result...but I hate the cheesy part where the final two will have to battle to win votes...why they should win , etc...and usually the person who cry the most is the champion ( like 2010... it was Vancouver vs Malaysia... Malaysia lost because she didn't cry and Vancouver was crying and saying about how she who is not fluent in canto can come this far etc....the judges actually choose malaysia to win but because of Vancouver's pity speech , she eventually grabbed the crown )

So when it was the final two moment , me and my mum was saying " Omgosh....now it's the time to see who cry the most..." In fact both cried a lot....but since Chicago gave longer speech , she won... Honestly I was happy Chicago won because I never really liked Miss Singapore...her face lols..her chin I think...but man..her speech was genuine and I love that ...it was really meaningful

As a performer , I totally understand her feeling.... Actually she can win...but too bad her speech was way too short compared to Chicago ....

One thing I was shocked is that this year Chicago talked about her experience with the contestants etc ( super touching...you have to join a pageant to know why you actually can cry when you talk about the experience , difficulties in the pageant , stress etc ) and she won...compared to Miss Singapore who talked about her own life.... In 2010 , Vancouver talked about herself and she won , but Malaysia talked about contestants bonding etc and she lost... hmm...so the good thing is that they don't have a fixed format lols XD

WHAT POSSIBLY CAUSED LENNA THE MCI 2012 CROWN ?

2nd runners up fate : 2 steps closer to the crown...so near yet so far ...and so neglected since in MCI , people focus on the 1st runner up and the Champion more..

Everyone expected Lenna to be in the top 3 and place even higher ...but was shocked that she was only the 2nd runner up...because she passed through all segments with ease...and walked away with 3 SUBSIDIARY TITLES 0.0 She's also one of the crowd favourite... but what could possibly went wrong ?

Reason 1 : Her body

She's very confident in all segments ...well..until the bikini segment...You see , nobody is perfect . I grasp the concept better with Lenna . This girl have everything : Confidence , vitality , beauty ( her face wow ) , height , calm etc...but she kinda failed in the physique department . Sadly she's quite skinny ( in fact very skinny like me :( ) that's why you can see that her catwalk during the bikini segment is a bit not the usual ' Lenna style ' . I understand that well...and the worst part for her is that the Q&A segment was completely done when they are in bikini....At first , you see that she's ok because even though she don't have chest , but she have nice behind...but when you look at her for a very long time...it kinda became a bit scary because she's skinny....

If the Q&A session is conducted in cheongsams / evening gowns , the crown might be easily hers...

She looked soooo much better with cheongsam... * sighs...what's done...is done..

Reason 2 : Chen Fala look-alike ?

* random note : wow....Lenna still look pretty without make up ...how is that possible ???? 0.0

This reason is quite silly...saw this somewhere on the internet...Some people complained that maybe they don't want a Chen Fala copycat to win because there's no ' face originality ' ( if there's such term 0.0 ) ... Somehow it's quite true too...imagine if she wins , next time other organizers will choose doppelgangers instead lols ( maybe ) but still quite a senseless reason lols !!!

Reason 3 : Higher expectation

This is Lenna during MACIP 2011 last year... When you watch the video , you'll know how she perform...and she's already that good during national pageant , so it's obvious that people expect more from her . Actually watching this now and comparing this with her performance during MCI , she improved tremendously....that time she still looked like it's an interview ( and her answers were already that witty XD ) and now wow...during MCI she delivered...even host Eric Tsang said ' wow...good answer ' which shows a strong indication that she'll be one of the top...when she was announced as 2nd runners up....the hosts was shocked...clearly...

Perhaps the people and the judges expect more from her ....but sometimes it's true that when you joined something and is already at a certain level , you only can improve so far e.g : you are at 50% and you only can go to 100 % so there's only 50% of improvement compared to those who started at 20% ...and have 80% room for improvement ...

Also maybe what she showed that night was nothing new...because she've always been this consistent..so it all boils down to expectation issues here...

Reason 4 : Preliminary judging

As I said above ( scroll way up ) , there are two panels , one does the preliminary judging and another will do the final judging . Usually for preliminary judging , the contestants will have close door interviews so that the interviewers will know the contestants better...and since they follow them most of the time , their behaviours , etiquette , timing , fashion , etc will be judged ... Perhaps Lenna didn't scored high enough during the preliminary judging process...

Reason 5 : Preliminary judging vs Final judging

There is also this possibility that she scored very high during preliminary judging but the final judges gave her lower marks....

Reason 6 : Not TVB's cup of tea

Let's face it... Most beauty pageant organizers are talent seekers... especially TVB...the winners will get a contract with TVB and etc...( though there are some exceptions like 2010 all 3 winners were offered the contract and 2004 Vivien Yeo ( top 5 ) but was offered contract from TVB ) ..

Maybe TVB don't see Lenna fitting in TVB's concept and style?...( perhaps because she bears a striking resemblance with Fala ? ) the mystery continues XD They usually choose winners whom they want / like / fit the company's image etc..

Reason 7 : Stress

Even though she looked the calmest during the night , that doesn't mean that she's very calm inside...Using logic , it's obvious that when you country is rooting for you to be champion ( high expectation ) , you will push yourself to improve and deliver...she did...( winning 3 subsidiary titles and great answers and presentation ) , but somehow , she's boiling with the added expectation...

The misfortune of Emily Yap

If only there's one representative from one country...

Luck is not on Emily this year because she was suppose to join MCI 2011 but since last year there's no pageant and Lenna have already been crowned , she wasn't even suppose to join MCI 2012...but she should thank God that TVB allowed some countries to send two representatives ( 2010 and 2011 winner ).........

Emily is actually very witty , very intelligent ( Currently pursuing Master's degree 0.0 ) , eloquent , tall and have good body...Also, she have the advantage over Lenna because she was crowned 2 years ago and already have hosting experience etc..but sadly , her looks are not outstanding...If she were to compete last year ( with only the usual 15 , she might have the chance - such as Belle Theng...nobody expect her to win but she was 1st runner up ..because she was outstanding that night and her competitors are not really good looking.. ) ...

Somehow , it's somewhat like a misfortune for Emily....During her year , Emily wasn't the favourite for the crown ( same goes to Belle...) BUT Belle wow-ed everyone during MCI while Emily was overshadowed by the much favoured Lenna and other contestants....hence , she wasn't given much time and opportunity to talk and converse with the hosts / judges

Judging from the picture above , I think you clearly know what I'll say...Our world is that harsh... and it's even harsher on Emily...If you compare both of them , they shared almost everything : witty speech , confidence , height and eloquence...but sadly Emily drowned in Lenna's presence because Lenna is practically more attractive than her...if you see facebook pages etc....most are rooting for Lenna ( there are those who root for Emily but not as much as Lenna ) ....so for her...I'll just say that she joined during the wrong year...and sometimes it's that unlucky...as in this year there might be strong competitors and you will drown , sometimes there are very weak contestants and you'll stand out.... But I believe Emily will do well in other areas.... perhaps God might have other plans for her ? :)

Just got to know that my niece got shortlisted after attending JYP entertainment's audition !!!
and omgosh !!!!!

ONLY 3 ARE SHORTLISTED AMONG 2100 APPLICANTS !!!!

' THESE three young local girls don't think that they’re pretty by any means.

And yet, Tricia Teo, Carinda Kao and Brenda Go were shortlisted out of the 2,100 hopefuls who turned up for the JYP & Alpha K-pop auditions over the weekend.

Their conclusion? Their singing must have impressed the casting directors.

So imagine their surprise when they were told that their looks played a big part in the selection process.

f(x) Amber CAN SING ??????

Amber has always been promoted as the resident tomboy of f(x) which caused ( and still is causing ) girls to go crazy over her...( yeah..I have to admit that most of the times , she really DID look like a guy 0.0 sometimes even manlier than some guys 0.0 )

on a random note , I really wanna see her feminine side... but I think that will not be the case for now... coz if Amber is feminine , f(x) will FLOP ..( practically f(x) is only famous for Krystal ( being SNSD Jessica's sister ) and tomboy Amber , cute Sulli and Luna ( her voice is amazing.. ) and Victoria ( her flexibility ) ..as you see here , f(x) is only famous for non-music related stuff...and their songs.. argh...I'll give it a pass.... Your artiste , Amber can CLEARLY SING ( even better than Krystal ) ...so stop promoting her androgyny , tomboyish looks and her rapping ( it's good ) but please give her singing lines in f(x) songs !!!..and Btw , you should promote Henry ( SJ-M ) more too...he can clearly sing too...wow..SM , you are really great at screwing up great talent...

but I can't lie...I can't wait for EXO's debut...especially Kai !!!

* I know SM has been really bias ( most of the video teasers are KAI KAI KAI KAI ) but I understand...I've seen some of the members and somehow he's like the most talented one for now... AND good looking XD

and it's super interesting to see that SHINee's Taemin will be facing some rivalry soon ( Kai that is ) ...it's WEIRD that both of them kinda look alike too 0.0

Random Picture 1 : My 1/2 'bling-ed' up laptop

Bought this faux leopard print sticker ...
Used it to bling up my boring handphone and still have some leftover which I used it to decorate my laptop..
Unfortunately , I can only finished it until what you are seeing on the top picture because when I went to the shop two days later , the person told me that they are out of stock :(
so yeah , ugly laptop for now... :(

Mum surprised me with this prawn roll snack last week !!
And I finished this in one day ...
Last saturday after work , Dad surprised me with the same snack again ..and I finished that in 1/2 day 0.0
On a random note , I have been buying food to store in my room so that I can eat anytime I want :D

I know this should be posted weeks ago ,
But i've been really busy with stuff so yeah...

Since I went for Christmas service at my ex-church ,
I only received all my Christmas presents from my church friends during H.U.G.E camp lols XD

ZANNE :

Revenge finally returned right ? :P Was super stunned when I got the present lols XD and I opened it in the bus lols !! Thank God I was at the front row , if not people will see and OMGOSH !! and yeah.. This is my very first La Senza piece lols..( my most expensive underG too >< ) lols >< btw , I really love it because it fits perfectly haha XD and the BOX IS REALLY AMAZING !! ( usually I recycle boxes , but i'm soo gonna keep this one :P ) Thanks for the present lols XD and thanks for being really really kind for not buying me a G - ehem instead hahaXD XD I really <3 it :D Super funny when I opened the rectangular flat thing expecting it to be a card but it's the paper bag and I saw the brand lols !!!! wahhh your revenge really well played :P I surrender XD XD ( FOR NOW :p :p )

Like what i've said to Claudia , it applies to you too :D It was really double joy for me when I received two mask on the same day lols XD ( now I can save $$ to buy mask- for now ) XD XD and bonus for one thing : I really really love Chamomile flower ( the smell , etc - I used to have this shampoo from Sunsilk made from Chamomile but they discontinued the product and i've been missing the smell and the texture ever since :( ) Thanks for bringing back such awesome smell and scent of Chamomile to me :) Really love that mask too :) Thank you so very much :) P.S : I really love the note you gave me too :) your art is amazing and I appreciate the message :)

Woah !!! your present came at a right time too !!!! I really really love Olive ( I last smelled it when I use Body Shop Body Butter ) and really , your hand cream is really essential and very practical for me especially when I have dry skin :) I love the texture of it in the sense that it's not too sticky :) And i'm sooo ADDICTED TO THE SMELL !!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you uber much for this very well thought of present :)

I was broken , I grew stronger , I faced sooo many fears , I still faced some fears , I was criticized for my looks , I was criticized for my body , I danced , I catwalked , I passed my title to my predecessor , I played the piano on stage twice , Performed duet for the 1st time in my life , Went for health check up , I really cleaned my room , I was in a psychology mess , Complicated relationship but that made me and us stronger , trust issues , friend who thinks that we are frenemies , missing my one and only best friend from college , did plastic surgery to my eye ( eyelids...suture technique ) , Realized so many things , never had a guy who love me so much , things allowed me to break from my perception on various issues , setting boundaries , eating health pills regularly , stressed out , nearly gave up , cried like crazy for 1 month , guilty feelings , super blessed , lost and was found by God , was the one of the two who got A for A levels law , Didn't got straight A's for AS , got a freaking E for GP ( I know...whatheheck..) , Hair grew longer , Found two amazing close friends in college , Lost appetite , gained appetite , struggled with anxiety issues , depressions , took anti-vomitting pills coz I thought that i'll puke from some disease ( which later found out that I was just psychologically " ill " ) , stressed out from studying , outer appearance insecurities issues , personality problems , jealousy , forgiving people , Gossips , best birthday surprises ever , best late birthday surprise , my best motorcycle ride ever , Being asked to join a pageant in the future by college peeps , being called "pageant" by my lecturer , got to know better about guys and someone is still the best , found a friend who love history and can discuss facts etc with me , Got so many pink stuff for christmas , revenge returned from my best friend ( lols ) , hated economics , having depression and health check ups health issues during AS , met OO juniors , lack of blood , being appreciated , my bed companion ( a pink bear bean bag became so flat and those micro beans leaked out ) , bought myself a new bed companion ( a micro bean bag square cat ) lol.. , being encouraged and so supported by someone when I hit rock bottom , made people jealous , did childish stuff , learn to be dependent at certain times , learn to rely on someone , being encouraged by close friends , have amazing friends , brother's successful concert , Didn't get to swim the huge pool in my college =.= ,

Christmas presents and a Funny incident XD

Last Sunday after church ,
I drove to KLCC to join my mother and brother for lunch and shopping for Christmas presents with my mother
( super rush coz it was for my cousins , nieces and nephew XD and we have to attend a dinner with them at night XD )

We practically were out of idea until we saw Laneige and this pink luggage bag XD

I actually told my mum saying " omgosh.....pink luggage bag 0.0 no wayyyy so girly ...." and actually we wanted to buy other things....but it's kinda hard to think of what to buy.....Hence , we just settled at Laneige XD

Actually we thought of buying separate things for them ,but then my sharp eyes spotted those cosmetics sets... and we have an awesome idea :)

To cut the long story short , we bought two boxes XD and since we went beyond RM600 ( RM 640 ) , we got the luggage bag ( the LAST ONE !! ) and that girl was super kind enough to give us tons of samples !!! :D super excited XD XD she was even kind enough to give me a sample set suitable for my camp 0.0 and yeah...my mum told me , " The luggage bag is your Christmas present " 0.0

so I was stunned....I don't really like the colour , but soon I grew to love the bag because it's unique and it's really light and roomy XD Totally loving it :D

Hmm...I was about to pay my parking tickets when I noticed that I do not have any One ringgits ( only have 50 and 10 ) , and the machine ( ish ) don't want to accept my RM 10 ...

I took a risk by putting in the RM 50 in hope of getting my change .....( kinda risky...but I was thinking KLCC is such a big mall , I guess they'll return my change in cash )

But scary part...no money came out...and I was quite nervous...one sad thing about Malaysia...people just go away when they see you in trouble...I didn't asked for help la...but when I pressed the intercom button and nobody answered , those people behind me just went to another machine ( =.= )

but thank God after like....1 minute , coins start to come out...
At first I was like...okay..thank God , then later I started to kinda freaked out coz coins started to pour out...like it hit jackpot or something...I think a lot of people stared at me like " that girl's stealing the money from the faulty machine " and yeah...it's kinda embarrassing to " sweep " all those coins into my bag...

A lot huh ?

Now you can see better XD RM 46 in coins !!!!

Step 1 : Remove any traces of nail polish and apply 1 coat of Clear Base Coat

Step 2 : Apply one coat of desired colour :) ( mine is Shimmery Gold )

Step 3 : Stick the nail tape for french manicure below your top finger nail line ( If you don't have a nail tape , I guess double eyelid sticker works too )

Step 4 : Apply the top colour :)

* Tip : wait for the top part to dry before peeling the sticker ( VERY IMPORTANT !! )

Step 6 : Ice water works well if you are in a rush / wants your nails to dry faster ( OPTIONAL )

Step 5 : Remove the sticker

My brother , Clarence Kang was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD when he was three . We started to noticed his talent in art when he was 6 ( He can draw cars super well with perspective and all... ) and when he was a bit older , we were stunned that he was dabbing and exploring with the digital piano that we have....Soon , he started to explore chord progressions and contemporary music . His sight-reading skills were amazing !!!!

After seeing his talent , we enrolled him for formal piano lessons ( classical music ) merely 3 years ago under the tutelage of Mr. Ko Chuan Li ( also my ex-diploma piano teacher ) and now he's doing post-grade 8 / diploma with Ms. Carolyn Siow . Honestly , the teachers said that sometimes it's hard to teach him because he have his own style ( and he can be stubborn with that - I can be witness to that because I tutor him at times ) but , he's constantly learning...and learning FAST !!

Clarence's trial recording session with mum

Few weeks back ,
I accompanied my mum and my youngest brother to their trial recording session for
my mother's self-pen song for Autistic people : " Hold My Hand "
It was quite nostalgic actually because i've been to the recording studio twice in the past
( once was a singing competition thing where I got to experience the recording process and another one is for some artiste stuff )

My Talented Autistic brother :D ( he's so funny whey...he kept laughing when my mum spoke through the microphone into the earphone XD )

Somehow the recording session was okay with them ,
perhaps they are just not used to it...
and I learnt something too...
that you have to use a different singing technique for recording and singing live...
also , you need to be really immaculate when you are playing the piano...
coz little mistakes are recorded :O

Also , I saw the editing process thing....
honestly , when I saw how they edit music and all ,
I kinda feel sad for those singers and those working behind the scenes...

After the branded sale event ,
We then headed to Zanne's house to doll up for the event of the night
" Ladies and Gentleman Night "

Actually it was super jam because ( obviously ) we're stuck @ the Golden Triangle...
so it's natural for us to worry that we might not make it to the event on time...

Thank God my intuition was somewhat good that day...Just had this feeling to ask them to turn using a small road and VOILA !! we saved about 1 hour ( coz it's a short cut / back alley ) and we arrived @ Zanne's house..... still kinda late ( around 6pm...we need to be at church around 7pm to meet up with Wen Qi coz he knew the direction )

Somehow , midway ,
we decided that we're too late , so we'll use google maps instead... lols

Somehow I told them that maybe we should use intuition because we cannot find them , so we found our way to Caffeinees ( thought it was kinda tricky coz they suddenly closed a small route 0.0 )

And later we found out that the map thing was kinda misleading coz Zanne's car ended up in super far places such as Bukit Jalil and Nirvana 0.0 ( i've drove there before...when i was exploring roads during my college years a.k.a i got lost XD )

Was invited to this sale by Ca and Zanne and decided to go ( it's my very first warehouse sale experience ) . I mean..who can resist Topshop selling their goods at 80% discount ??? lols !!!

Was suppose to drive but mum drove my car to the market , so Claudia have to replace me XD Was shocked to see Kern Rei and Sin Ling there . Also , Claudia braved KL roads ( the Golden Triangle area ) for the 1st time XD ( it was her 1st time driving there- I think )

Apparently Zanne's group also reached Fahrenheit at about the same time as us , but they were lining up at the carpark while we are on the ground floor area XD

There were few staffs of the sale which told us to comeback tomorrow because the line is super long ( we waited for 2 hours + ) and they said they cannot guarantee whether we can enter the sale or not as it's really packed...

We even ate our lunch while lining up ( haha !! )

Man..honestly , Hyuna CAN'T SING... I mean other 4 minute members can sing and all ( best candidate is Jiyoon because she have the charisma , face and talent which rivals Hyuna ) ...

Hyuna have this Nasal voice and she can barely handle singing live ( she sounded so out of breath ) and she already have several solo albums under her belt ( I know..WHAT ?? )

Guess that the collaboration with Hyunseung this time is to prove that Hyuna can sing...
(Most people thought so )

But not me .....

Hyunseung is rather underrated among B2ST and Hyuna is CUBE'S gold....
One thing good about HYUNA is that even thought she can't sing...she's really good in projecting herself...I mean...people love her... she have a cute personality and she can be incredibly sexy ( thought it look forced in " Bubble Pop " ) THAT'S the thing she have which is : marketability...

According to my opinion , this song is more like Hyunseung ft. Hyuna rather than a duet collaboration...
But somehow , this collaboration is CUBE'S move to show that Hyunseung is not under appeaciated and uses Hyuna's fame and marketability to make Hyunseung more popular...

Hyunseung is the opposite from Hyuna...Thought he have the face , voice and talent, His expressions are somewhat blank...or bland...So both of them have flaws to improve from ...one is expression and one is singing abilities...

Right after the " picture session " with AN11C and AN11B , me , Kalin and Siew Hui headed to Giant to buy supplies for BBQ xD
Thank God we are not buying everything because everyone going to the party will be sponsoring some items XD
Choose poultry items ( wow..we are so noob at it...we actually took quite some time to choose 20 chickens XD ) , Kalin sponsored Fries , and I sponsored Potong ice-creams :D

Reached to Siew Hui's house and helped her to clean the yard so that it's ready for BBQ ...it's kinda awesome because we can see Kioko's house just a walking distance away ( they live THAT near 0.0 )

Siew Hui's mum was kind enough to give us some tips to marinate the chicken XD
The super funny part was when I jokingly said " hey Siew Hui , this packet said that it's " buatan Malaysia " wow...since when Fries is buatan Malaysia ? "

Until we noticed the front part which stated " ubi keladi " or something like that...( something like potato but it's a local potato relative ) lol !! and we are like...man that's why it taste sweet and it's so long !! Edwin was laughing like crazy in the kitchen XD XD

Later , more classmates reached and we started to BBQ ,
Somehow , our BBQ kinda failed , but thank God savior Raymond was there to help us XD
I kinda burnt the sausage ( it's like half is burnt , and half is edible =.= Zhoon teased me saying whether he can eat this sausage or not =.= ) guess that we all talked too much over the grill !!

After half of them left , the rest of us sat on the sofa and we played this really interesting game lead by RaymondXD it's something about Guardian , Little Girl , Villagers, Witch and Killers something like that...

Somehow I SUCK at acting but when it comes to this type of acting i'm kinda awesome XD Nobody believed that I was killer and when I was just a villager , so many people one to kill me ( got once all of the guardian , witch etc wanted to kill me...and Raymond said that person is soo wanted ) Zen yu said face prob =.= haha !! and they really thought that I was a killer XD funny to the max XD when I was only a villager XD
The highlight of the game have to be Edwin and Kalin ...Kalin was the Guardian and she choose to protect Edwin from being killed , but Edwin ( as a witch ) choose to kill Kalin XD
sad case haha !!!

after that , me , Siew Hui and Kalin clean the house till late and we chatted away till 6amXD
I woke up at 11.30am the same day , wash up and went to greet Siew Hui's mum
She's really nice XD
we talked a lot and ended up watching Curse of the Royal Harem with Siew Hui while Kalin was sleeping ( she joined us later...)

Reached home at about 5pm and awhile later , my family came back from cruise , and mum surprised me with a jumpsuit she brought from Phuket <3

It was really awesome XD No longer lonely at home ( because they went for that cruise without me..( stupid A2 ) ) and books accompanied me the WHOLE day ( that boring XD )

Wow...If you want me to say so many things about this college , I have tons to complain , tons to ramble , tons to talk about and tons to MISS !!

Made awesome friends , had life changing experience , wow...I couldn't ask for more...and expect more from this college that I initially hate...

But yeah...on November 21st , after sitting for my last A-Levels paper ( Economics ) , I'm finally free from exams and the stress from A-Levels..but yet...I have to leave so many memories behind :(

We took pictures like crazy that day..and I think most of us are in half exam mood and half freedom mood because we have 1 gap week prior to that final paper ( I know...it's super lame.. )

New Radio / Music player

My music player seemed to have many problems because it's super old . So it's time to change to a new player because this player have alllllloooooooooooooooottttttttttt of problems ....

In between A2 ( there's this 2 weeks gap =.= ) , \ I followed my family to buy a player for my brothers ( those which can replay the whole time coz their player can't - me and my bros have similar player models XD ) AND since I was in dire need for a change ( the super unpredictable player- sometimes it works , sometimes it don't ) so I decided to purchase a new one

The old black player ( super bulky aye ? )...I had a hard time carrying those down XD ( COZ it's joined =.=)

The new player ( it cost RM 200 ...quite cheap compared to SONY ( RM 500+ i think...or RM 400 0.0 ) idk XD

Wow...it comes with remote control and so many wires

It's super light , and have many functions : can support pendrive , radio , DVD , CD, VCD player !!
and the sound quality is awesome too !!

and perhaps...the pink carpet helps too XD ( YEAH..that's a carpet..but I really don't like it on my floor ...so I used it as a deco XD )
and it cost only about RM 5-RM 10 !! XD

Was choosing which old textbooks should have a new life ( recycling ) when I found my form 2 English composition book !! ....and man...seriously I changed a lot...really a lot...and I was kinda shocked with my maturity way back then , some pretty silly stuff and the words I used ( my vocabulary wasn't that strong , so there's errors here and there XD ) , SO IT'S kinda funny actually XD

The short essay :

IN 20 YEARS TIME

In 20 years time , I will be married with two children : One girl and a boy . I do not prefer twins because it is very dangerous to have twins when I am pregnant . Besides , I do not prefer to have many children because living cost in either Kuala Lumpur or Singapore is quite high . Besides , it is hard to take care of so many children .

Second , I will be living with my beloved husband and my children either in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore . I wish to live in a luxury bungalow in the heart of either cities .

Third , I wish to look fit , like I am still 21 years old . I will maintain my body figure ( maybe a bit fatter because now I am thin ) . I will be wearing contact lenses all the time and I will change the colour of contact lenses once a week .

Forth , I will have a master in architecture studies in the National University of Singapore ( NUS ) and maybe , earning a PHD later .

Fifth , I will be a part-time businesswoman and a full time architect . I wish to be a businesswoman to earn more money , and an architect to satisfy my love for art and structures . I will be home by six in the evening so that my children get enough love and care from my husband and me .

My parents really love it when I make up ( they kept asking me to do so..saying that guys prefer girls who make up )

Times really flies !!! and a new winner is crowned on the 28th October 2011 ( so fast right !! ..one year passed just like that !! ) ..and YES !! For one of those really rare times , I'M REALLY SATISFIED WITH THE WINNER :D

She really didn't disappoint....She's really photogenic ( practically , her picture is the BEST !! ) and her performance during the finals didn't disappoint at all ! She's witty and she knows what she's talking about... Really confident too...( perhaps because she's the crowd favourite and she gained more confidence from that ...- but I applaud her..because being a crowd favourite though it gives you added advantage , you never know who will be the dark horse that will snatch the crown away from you , or you might drown under the pressure ) ...

This year the judges and special guest were quite harsh too they really voice out who is their favourite , think who is fat , and even say who is weak and who is strong...but I think it's good too...more upfront...and real :)

Actually , there are some debates ( minor ones ) who some prefers Kate to be the champion because she have better body ...and because Lenna looks like a living skeleton..

Yeah..I might agree on the body part , but being skinny is okay also I guess...Lenna have the face , confidence and the support from the people ( which is important ) ...besides , she's tall , and her catwalk is good and she CAN dance... I mean...she's really really a true queen ( in terms of Miss Chinese International standards ...she might not be qualified for Miss Malaysia Universe / World because she's skinny...those pageants want curvy and tall girls ) ..but yeah...MCI is really really really for her !!! In fact , she's one of the best Miss Astro as of yet !!!

She's stunning aye? ( this is the first picture I saw , and I was wishing that she will grab the title ) and yes !! I'm really really happy that she got IT !!!!

If you are having shoulder length hair like me ,

you will know that having your hair more or less ( over or a little above ) the shoulder...

is really really irritating....

and the problem is that you can't really cut your hair into any style you want...because you wanna leave it long.( okay..maybe in that case..it's me... )

So , I was super desperate yesterday and just have this urge to really go and CUT MY HAIR

( which my mum don't really agree..she's like " ok lah.you go and cut your hair...don't complain when your hair becomes shorter or layered..)

* layered + shorter hair....I experienced that BEFORE 00 NIGHT that time...so it was really a disaster...to have someone messed up your hair before a BIG event...and I still have endure the " aftermath " of the " effect "

but whatever....

main reason is that I want to have fringe that can cover my enormous forehead yet enhance my face by showing ( and NOT hiding my focal point of my face...which is my EYEBROWS...)

Chinese names a.k.a 华文名字

I always think that the Chinese race have one of the most unique system when it comes to naming ...since we have tons of surnames...which some common ones will be : Lee 李 , Zhang 张 , Lim / Lin 林 and Chen 陈

and yet....have so many variants !!! For instance :

Tan and Chen = 陈 ... The difference is Tan is for Hokkiens , and Chen is usually for Cantonese... or
Lim and Lam = Lim mostly are for Hokkiens , and Lam is usually for Cantonese...

wow...interesting huh ???

Actually , other than some of the example above , there are over 100+ surnames !!! ( where I checked mine....was on the 52nd on the list XD a.k.a 江..

Also , by looking at your surname...( the Variants especially , ) you can identify you are from what clan or so XD

For Instance : 江 = Kang , Kiang , Kong , Gang and the list goes on....

The difference is that : Kang = Teochew , Kiang = mandarin pinyin , Kong = Cantonese , Gang = Korean

so judging from the above , I'm Teochew haha... XD which is a dialect spoken by Southern Min Nan people..wow and the list goes on !! ( quite interesting to know about your roots and etc XD )

Okay...now I'm curious... come to think about it , giving your child chinese name , is not as easy as it seems.... because it depends on your surnames as well !!

I used to ask my parents why they choose my name ? ( 依婷 = Yi Ting or for some , Yee Teng ) which is actually quite common XD especially the 依 is always used to compliment another name such as " Yi Wen " , or like my cousin , " Yi Ling " and the 婷 can be used as " Ting Ting - which my parents called me by that name...lol ...look like i'm a small kid huh ? but in your parents eyes , you are forever a young child XD ahh..random XD " OR " shi Ting " , " Wei Ting - my cousin's wife" etc.....

It's quite hilarious because I have a friend who shares my name : as in 江依婷 but instead of " Kang Yi Ting " , her's is " Kong Yee Teng " ...but same chinese characters and all lols !!!! and my cousin's " Yi " was inspired by my name and my cousin's wife is " Wei Ting " but my relatives call her Ting Ting...which haha !!! seriously !!! we should take a picture because we always get confused when they shout " TING TING !!! " xD really REALLY FUNNY !! XD XD

I used to think that Yi Ting is really....so notttt... mee....and I was actually grateful that my mum named me " Chermaine " = Chermaine Kang Yi Ting...which i think it helps me a lot in many many ways I cannot explain...

We were randomly discussing about how my name came about...and it was because of a character in a Chinese movie who was preeeeetyyy and my parents love her...Her name is " Shi Ting " and they nearly named me that when my uncle said " heyyyyy DON'T !! " SHI TING " is nice but if you add " 江 = jiang " to it , it will sound like " JIANG SHI TING " = which when it's translated , becomes " Vampire / Chinese Dracula Ting " ...and there are many other opinions...but all failed...because of my really really unique surname...( which my parents..and later me found that it's hard to find some rare names which can rhyme witih it )

I was thinking that time and I agreed with my mum....super duper hard whey !!!

But some surnames are really versatile...which gives you more freedom and room to choose " unique " names...such as Lim or Lee.... ( my mum said that...which I agreed since we tried to fit random names and it sounds really smooth with Lim AND really awkward with Kang XD )

but on the bright side , I'm grateful to have such simple name !! I used to be in a Chinese kinder. for two years and I did not get any scoldings for messing up my name or forgetting a " pie " or so ( maybe my name is toooo simple !! ) and yeah...

I <3 my simple name :) it really compliments with my really really unrhyming ( dont worry...no such word in the dictionary ) and it fits " CHERMAINE " well enough XD

Honestly , if she were to say something controversial yet with the right facts , I will keep quiet and support her since I really love people voicing out opinions even though some are very controversial . But this is plain...

yes I said it. STUPID. She did not really managed to degrade the Chinese...but she fanned the flames because she still said that we are " Pendatangs" ( foreigners ) and worst yet : labourers...

Ok...We chinese accept the facts .

Chinese did came to Malaysia AS labourers And some of them established the Kuomintang communist party...( but hey...not ALL chinese are communists ) ..

Our forefathers worked hard and from mining tins , they established various business from that starting point . Chinese are always doing business , and hence , established the mining city of " KUALA LUMPUR " ...

I'm not sure whether my facts are THAT precise , but I DO read history ( Malaysian History - forced to AND world history - out of interest ) and I am confident that my facts are more reliable than hers though not all may be 100% precise ( maybe 98% ? )

Wrong fact 1 : Chinese and Indians are just foreigners , Malay are BUMIPUTERA...

Wow... I've never seen someone who are also foreigners just as us.. but said others are foreigners..
Malays came to Malaysia from several places :

1 ) Yunnan , CHINA
2 ) Taiwan ( because in the past , there are many indigenous tribes there..even Chinese are not originally from Taiwan... )
3 ) Papua New Guinea
4 ) Indonesia

so even Malays are foreigners...

To make the facts even clearer...

Non of us are the " original race " in a country . For instance , in USA , Caucasians are from Europe , and Negros are from Africans . The " original race " will always be the indigenous tribes in their countries ..like the Indians in USA , Kadazan or Murut in Malaysia , Taiwanese Aborigines in Taiwan and the list goes on...

that's why ORANG ASLI are called ORANG asli.... indigenous people...see ???
But wait...

EVEN they are not the original race...there's a theory that states , everyone originates from Africa , then at one period , they spread and settled in different regions of the world...

So now who is the pendatang ?

The Answer : EVERYONE IS !!!!!!! oh ya..and who is Bumiputera : Kadazan , Murut etc...Malays are not the real " earth prince "

Wrong fact 2 : Tunku Abdul Rahman AGREES that Chinese , Indian , Malays to live as one

Though it's wrong , but this is half true.

BUT he did that decision NOT because he's noble to do so... , it's because he's kinda FORCED to do so...

Before Malaya gained independence in 1957 , Malaya is a colonial country under the control of the British forces . Later , they said that " IF TUNKU CAN PROVE AND SHOW THAT ALL RACES IN MALAYSIA CAN LIVE AS ONE " , they will grant Independence to Malaya ..

Since the leaders ( especially Tunku Abdul Rahman ) wanted independence SOOO badly , he made an agreement with the indians and the chinese leaders ....and hence , the Malaysia Social contract was formed ( which is a quid pro quo a.k.a " what for what " a.k.a bargain - wow learnt this in consideration but nvm ) : which is to grant citizenship to the non-bumis ( non-Malays ) in exchange for Malay special rights and privileges .

Wow...Tunku was smart indeed...Honestly , he was a very smart guy , he actually can grant citizenship before THAT , but he choose to delayed it later so that it can be a sufficient consideration to both parties... he's also smart to expel Singapore ( because if he keeps Singapore , the Chinese will outnumber the Malays - which is a bad thing for Malaya ) .

so later , after the agreement , we agreed to " live as one " and British gave us independence... story over ?

Not quite ..

Because of the Malaysian Social contract , some Malays have used this quid pro quo agreement to defend their " Ketuanan Melayu " ( so childish ) - Malay Supremacy

Wrong fact 3 : " Bumiputeras have given non-Bumis so many chance , that is 1 Malaysia "

I saw one man commented this in Bahasa Melayu...and honestly , I soooo wanna LOL like really burst out laughing like a mad woman....They gave us CHANCE ??? what chance ?? I think it should be WE have been giving them chances

Bumiputeras received MORE ( like 90% more ) chances than US in many areas.... : quotas in government jobs , quotas for trade licences , permission to EVEN MONOPOLISE CERTAIN INDUSTRIES , 90% of public university places and 90% schorlarship.... CHEAPER HOUSE , CHEAPER CAR ???????

DID WE GET THOSE ???? we DID complain once in a while...but DID WE REALLY COMPLAIN LIKE HOW YOU DID ???

Bumiputeras get trade aids...but we get less aids.... and they said they give us chance...wow...what kind of argument is that ??

and the irony is that they said our success is because we have been given chance by them and we must be grateful..." wow "

( i was soo busy after OO and before that they told us not to blog about things..so yeah..haha XD ..one year after schedule ) XD

It was Saturday ! ( I remembered that time that OO was on a Sunday ! - imagine how i looked when I attend classes on Monday...like a zombie ! ) XD

The hall was literally freezing !! like we are @ North Pole or so.. and some of us wore shorts..and we need to dance...lols XD ( your body is less flexible when it's cold...) - must warm up more..

Orientation Odyssey Night 2011

This is a super delayed post...was suppose to blog about it last month but... XD ( I kinda forgot >< )
So , here we go :D

The event itself was postponed to a week later because of the yellow protest ...
( yeah I know..so lucky..they got extra one week to prepare !! )

Being an ex-finalist..of course I'm excited to meet our juniors and seniors
( seniors too as we are gonna collaborate with them and the juniors for a performance :) )

Honestly , I watched the whole show already since I was there during their " final rehearsal week " ...so yeah...no surprise for me...sad :(((

The show started with two mimes coming out from the stage doing mime
Both of them really did a great job :D

Later , the two MCs took over ..well ( I still miss last year's MCs but waittt.... )

Then they introduced the panel of judges !!!
Chantelle Chuah is their " beauty queen " judge of the night ( Miss Universe 2009 finalists and Miss International 2010 )

After much introduction and some funny jokes ,
The show finally starts !!

The finalists opened the show with Michelle ( ex-TT finalist and champion for TT night 2010 singing ( group )
singing Lady Marmalade and the finalists dancing to it...
Man..I have to say that they are super lucky this year because they can wear fishnet stockings and do sexy dance ( not that I wanna wear fishnet stockings but last year we can't wear shorts only..must wear legging also !! SO unlucky... :(( IT'S really hard when you have to change outfits XD - will blog about it more in the next post )

So yeah..sexy dance , partner dancing and sexy pose in the end :D

After the first performance , the MCs are back for more fun activities and prizes to give away...
They asked few people to shuffle !!! ( super funny !! ) xD

Review :

Perks :
1) Wow ! the stage deco this year was awesome ! they painted those famous paintings themselves and the lighting and all...total class !Absolutely flawless ! I heard that they supposed to have an Eiffel Tower @ the middle but i think they have x time :( but the stage deco was still awesome !!
( only flaw = the staircase handle ! it's not made to support human weight ! Fui Meng nearly tripped :( )
2) Better distribution of dance routines as in NOT that last year's dances were bad..I think last year's dance is more to the " powerful" side..This year is more to sexy side.. but The main point is that they have less dances this year which is good since OO is a beauty contest...
( they really took last year's post mortem really good...the ideas and all )
3 ) BETTER prizes !! last year all participants get the same items ( even 1st and 2nd runners up ) except the queen and king ..they get more items.. ( We suggested in post mortem last year than they should give items for 1st and 2nd too..to have differentiation ..like last year..what separate us is only the trophy XD
4 ) They choose those finalists well , good looking and all :) Most of them are part-time models ! ( what a strong year..!! )
5 ) Subsidary titles ! ( last year we only have Most photogenic and Most talented ) :(
6 ) The freedom of wearing shorts without leggings !!
7 ) Equal distribution of stage time and roles ( they learnt this from post mortem last year too..~~.last year..man.my lines are sooo little..that I can remember within 1 hour XD~~ )

Letdowns :
1 ) The scenes are quite rushy .... it's like one minute hate , then one minute back together ( but can't blame them..I heard that they learnt the script pretty last minute... coz they noticed that with catwalk and all they still lack some time to fill )
2 ) The dialogues are too informal...
3 ) It's a little boring ( ~~I heard comments saying that last year's OO was better :x~~ )
4 ) Too many subsidary titles ( if there's too many = everyone gets a title..no fun ) - but it's more like a pageant so good job :)
5 ) The finalists this year are tad a little bit unserious compared to last year.. ( lols..maybe coz our PDs scold us one eh XD ) - ( plus we are a different bunch of finalists : this year , they are the ones who have confidence and all that ...My bunch : we are those who have lots of insecurities and little confidence )
